Reading Administration Video Transcript - CELDT Live 1B

Let’s look at the administration of some K-1 Reading questions. These questions were the sample questions on the field test. We are showing them here as you would administer them if they were actual test questions on an operational form.

This first example shows the administration of a word analysis item, which the student answers correctly.

Because the student responded correctly, the Test Examiner marks the "C" bubble in the Student Book.

Note that the word analysis items require Test Examiners to correctly and clearly pronounce the phonemes used in the test questions.

Let’s watch a different kind of word analysis question, in which the student is asked to point to a specific letter.

Now, here’s a fluency and vocabulary question, to which the student responds incorrectly.

The student was asked to read the word "good." Because the student did not read the word correctly, the examiner marks the "I" bubble in the Student Book.

Finally, let’s watch a comprehension item.

The student did not point to the front cover of the book, so the examiner marks the "I" bubble in the Student Book.
