Scoring Training of Trainers (STOT)

Educational Data Systems is pleased to announce the Scoring Training of Trainers Workshops for the 2010-11 Edition of the CELDT. The purposes of the STOT Workshops are to train participants to:

  • Score the writing and speaking items
  • Compile the results for local placement decisions
  • Train other qualified persons to be Test Examiners

Remember that all Test Examiners must be trained to administer the CELDT each year.

Registration

CELDT District Coordinators received an e-mail with details about the allocated spaces available to register. Each district must register to be able to attend one of the State-sponsored training workshops or choose to attend a local or regional CELDT training. If a local or regional training option is chosen, a separate Request to Attend form is required for each attendee.

Only the CELDT District Coordinators can register participants for these trainings. Registration is available online only via the secure CELDT District Portal (logon required). Participants must be registered in order to gain entrance to a workshop. Drop-ins may be turned away due to capacity limitations.

Immediately after submitting registrations on behalf of all attendees, a "Request to Attend" confirmation page will appear confirming receipt of your request(s) to attend a workshop. Within five working days, you, and all others you have registered, will receive an e-mail confirmation of registration. Approximately one week before the workshop for which you are registered, all attendees will receive a reminder e-mail.

Waiting List Available

Note that registration for a specific workshop will close when the workshop is full or seven working days prior to the workshop, so please register early. Districts may register extra participants for a waiting list. Seven days prior to each workshop, additional seats will be filled from the waiting list. If you have a staff member on the waiting list, the staff member will receive an e-mail confirmation that he/she is on the waiting list, and then will be notified 7 days prior to the workshop if there are seats available.

Day of Training

Check-in for each workshop will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants must stay for the entire training to become certified and receive materials needed to train others.

Local/Regional Workshops

If you are attending the Scoring Training of Trainers Workshop and subsequently will be facilitating a local or regional workshop that is open to surrounding districts or independent charter schools, you may post your workshop dates here on the CELDT Web site. To host a workshop you must first attend a STOT workshop and be certified. Training materials will be available from the Sacramento County Office of Education for a small fee (to cover the cost of duplication and shipping). To post your workshop schedule, please contact the CELDT Customer Support Center at 866-850-1039 or by e-mail at support@celdt.org.
