California English Language Development Test
The California English Language Development Test (CELDT) Web site is an informational hub for CELDT District and Site Coordinators for all things related to the administration and implementation of the CELDT. Please check back often, as this Web site will be updated regularly to reflect current test administration activities.
Updates and Reminders
2016–17 Superintendent’s Designation of CELDT District Coordinator.
New districts must contact the CELDT Customer Support Center to obtain a Superintendent’s Designation of CELDT District Coordinator Authorization Request 2016–17 Edition (SDF) form. If your CELDT District Coordinator is changing, submit an Authorization Request by logging on to the secure District Portal and selecting the link to the form at the top of the page.
2016–17 Edition Annual Assessment (AA) Window Additional Order Deadline.
The last day to place an order for test administration materials for the 2016–17 Edition AA Window is Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Orders placed after this date may not arrive at the district in time to test students by the last day of the AA testing window, which is Monday, October 31, 2016.
2016–17 Edition Pre-Identification (Pre-ID) Expedited Service Window.
The Pre-ID Expedited Service Window is open from Monday, September 19 through Friday, October 14, 2016. Prices and fees for files submitted during this window are slightly higher than regular window prices. For more information, including how to calculate the charges for your district, go to the Pre-ID Services Web page.
2016–17 Edition Initial Order Test Materials.
Districts that did not submit an Initial Order for testing materials in the spring can do so at this time. To place an Initial Order, access the secure District Portal and select the Order Management link.
2016–17 Edition Additional Ordering Window.
The Additional Ordering Window is now open. Districts may place one Additional Order through the secure District Portal each month. A $45 processing fee will be charged for each subsequent order in the month. Allow 5–7 business days for processing. Report overages and shortages for these shipments within two weeks of receipt.
2016–17 Edition Local Scoring Tool (LST).
The LST is now available. Use this calculation tool to prepare a Preliminary Local Student Score Report for students who take the CELDT as an Initial Assessment (IA). The LST is available via the Quick Links section on the CELDT Web Site.
On-Your-Own Shipping (i.e., districts shipping scorable documents via their own carrier without using the online scorable Request a Pickup Web site) is not necessary unless the shipping deadlines for the close of the Annual Assessment or Initial Assessment windows are missed (October and June administration months). If the deadline for placing a Request for Pickup for October and/or June is missed, CELDT District Coordinators may ship test materials using a traceable carrier at the district’s expense. See the 2016–17 District and Test Site Coordinator’s Manual Retrieval Schedule for additional information
